The Cinema and Clubrooms
Edinburgh Film Guild has its own cinema and clubrooms within the Filmhouse building.
The rooms and cinema have recently been re-decorated and the cinema equipped with a new, state-of-the-art, digital projector. Costing several thousand pounds, this is a professional piece of kit with the kind of output you are not going to get from your home cinema set up - unless you're lucky enough to have the facilities of a Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino at your disposal!
Members can also enjoy a chat with fellow cinephiles and a drink in the clubrooms before or after a film, or simply chill out in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
Room and facilities hire
The EFG cinema and facilities are available for hire and make an ideal venue for groups of up to 30. The cost to hire the Guild cinema and clubroom for an evening or afternoon session of three or so hours is £30 if you are doing your own projection, or £60 if we are required to supply a projectionist; please note that these prices are exclusive of VAT.
Bar facilities and buffet food can be supplied on request, either through the EFG itself or via the Filmhouse
Please note that late cancellations will be subject to a fee of 50% for 13 to four days notice and 100% for three or less days notice.

The Library and Archives
The Edinburgh Film Guild has an extensive library with original stills and posters from thousands of films and complete holdings of various film periodicals, including many that have long ceased publication, going back to the 1930s.
There is an ongoing project in conjunction with the Filmhouse to catalogue our collections.
For more information on our collections and arranging access to them contact us via this form or by emailing admin@edinburghfilmguild.org.uk.
