Budd Boetticher, was an American film director, best remembered for a series of low-budget Westerns he made in the late 1950s starring Randolph Scott. Boetticher achieved his major breakthrough with seven films that came to be known as the Ranown Cycle.

Screened at Filmhouse between the 16th and 20th of August 2025, the films were: The Tall T (1957), Decision at Sundown (1956), Buchanan Rides Alone (1958), Ride Lonesome (1959) and Comanche Station (1960).
