THE SEASON. This was the Edinburgh Film Guild’s 94th season and the 2nd full season of screenings at the Institut francais d’Écosse, held during 2023-2024.
SCREENINGS took place once a month on Friday afternoons at the Institut Français Ecosse, West Parliament Square, Edinburgh EH1 1RN
FILMS were Jean Renoir’s comedy BOUDU SAVED FROM DROWNING (France, 1932); EYES WITHOUT A FACE (France, 1960) directed by Georges Franju; PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE (France, 2019) directed by Céline Sciamma; JOUR DE FÊTE ( France, 1949) directed by Jacques Tati; A SEASON IN FRANCE (France, 2017) by Mahamat-Saleh Haroun and Jacques Becker’s DON’T TOUCH THE LOOT (France, 1954).
