THE SEASON. This was the Edinburgh Film Guild’s 60th Anniversary Season.
SCREENINGS took place in Filmhouse Cinema 1, which “now contains 70mm projection capabilities”, with some “alternative” screenings taking place in what was then “Cinema 3” (a reference to the Guild’s small cinema). Filmhouse Cinema 3 was not yet built.

EDUCATION “will form an ever-increasing part of our extra-curricular activities with two 10-12 week courses and a number of one-day events held throughout the year.” These included: TYPECAST is a SCOTVEC-certified course in film study. The 13 week course took the form “of a beginners guide to the genres and stars of the cinema.” Trinity Academy Film Society course, in association with the Edinburgh Film Guild, THE NEW FLESH: NEW DIRECTIONS IN HORROR. “A six-week course examining the work of 6 filmmakers who best represent the new generation of Cine – Horror.
