Films were: THE LADY VANISHES. WRONG MAN. DIAL ‘M’ FOR MURDER. REAR WINDOW and THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY.

THE NEW ‘FILM HOUSE’ AT RANDOLPH CRESCENT “has a larger, more comfortable cinema with a “raked” floor and tip-up seats…and with both 35 mm and 16 mm projector capable of encompassing every shape and size of screen. The Library…contains hundreds of volumes on every aspect of the cinema, and a collection of 25,000 “stills”, which is one of the largest in the country. Guild “members were provided with the additional facility of Club premises in the elegant and spacious lounges in Film House. The club is licensed and offers to members a service of morning coffee, light lunches and evening snacks attractively presented at reasonable prices.”

LECTURES The Film Appreciation Group Series, conducted by Mr Arthur D. Brown, consisted of four lectures, held fortnightly and illustrated by film excerpts. “The Guild organises DISCUSSION GROUPS and lectures by visiting film celebrities, while the EDINBURGH FILM FESTIVAL, which it founded, has now attained the widest international importance.”
